When competing as a junior, my preferred jigs for the hornpipe and jig contest was either the big tune that is John MacDonald’s Exercise, or Biddy From Sligo.

Note- the C Natural In the first part is optional, I heard it once by a fiddler and thought it worked really well for us pipers.
